Well Kitty rolled over and died *sob*

It should be ok - 60k is no mileage to worry about. The cost of the job is fair. How much for the unit if you don't mind me asking?
To do an engine swap is roughly a day, a long day. Maybe the following morning to buckle it up. How far is the timing job going, secondaries only or all parts (upper/lower tensioners, guides and chains) It's new coolant and oil/filter of course.....
This is the second 3.2 that's died on this board recently and both were being, if you don't mind me saying, pressed. I'd have gone 4.0 - you can stick a supercharged unit in, but would need ancillaries, i.e. intercooler and pump, s/c MAF plus bits and bobs. But you'd also need the transmission......

I looked at the supercharger version(which is how this thread started). Too involved twin pump fuel tank needed, engine bay loom,,ecu, coolers and as you say tranny etc.
Maybe 30 years ago I would have done it myself! nowdays ? I can't be *rs*d
I kinda looked at 4.0 but there were none at the right mileage around.
The Lump is £950 with all tensioners and new chains. A new thermostat & fluids brings the labour and bits to £600 oh & plus £60 to have it dragged there.
All in all I think its a great price! (he says like he has the ££ to spare )
110 ish aint REALLY pressing these. Ok its working a little bit but they should cruise at this all day!

Joy of Joys..reunited with kitty
Just an update guys.
I got kitty back today and the guy (Trevor) has done an amazing job ...Kitty is purring beautifully and better than ever ......turned out that as the engine siezed it took out a timing chain so it was a good job I had chains and tensioners done as part of the job. If anyone wants the guys number I would be only too happy to supply it ...he breaks just jags too and would probably ship world wide....
I am going to get him to do the rear top shock mount (£100) next!
