why is it that Carnival Kid's jag looks: 1. Just out of the showroom 2. Like it goes to the gym twice a week
Thank you Chris, praise indeed, although I have to admit I cannot claim veneration for the condition as i have only owned the car for just over two months, the praise should go to the previous owner for caring for it so well over 17 years and 70,000 miles. I'm just its new caretaker fixing the mechanical things.
So, fitted my new (to me) belt tensioner, after exchanging the plastic pulley for a metal one (even though the plastic had a new bearing fitted).
Found out, that my nasty cold start squeal is the bearing from the AC compressor. So that is on the list to change.
Also had the first delivery of parts for my suspension alteration. Especially some Moog ARB endlinks... Went 'Problem Solver' instead of factory, as the last original Jaguar ARB endlink only lasted 2 years...
Check for the correct model number . Depending on your installation you may be able to remove the clutch without disturbing the compressor and it's lines
There's a very good exhaust & suspension shop locally, I plan on going in tomorrow morning having them look @ my hangers & grease the u-joints while under there. Also getting a quote on installing the remote exhaust cut-outs (sinister chuckle) lol.

One word of advice on the location of the cutouts, this my own experience, and a Utah friend I just helped.
If you install them after the cat, before the center muffler, they will be loud, very loud.
My Utah friend just did that, now he drives around with the cutouts mostly closed, or just cracked open, as it is tooooo loud for longer than just that fun moment.
If you install them after the center muffler, it will will give a nice rumble, but never be too loud, maybe a tat too low.
Mounted there, you will not need an intermittent position, just full closed or full open.
There is also a significant difference in temperature between the 2 locations, plus some fuel lines.
Not saying where to put hem, to each his own, just that you know.

Yeah I'm going for the nice rumble, not looking for the Dukes Of Hazzard effect lol.

Daim, I was just about to order those endlinks but read that they do not come with the bushings. Would you happen to have a model number? Also a note on the compressor. Watch out for the spacer/washer on the spline. Once the new bearing is installed make sure the clutch and compression plate spin separately from each other freely.
BUT if your question was refering to the Moog part number for the entire endlink, it is K750225. That is as a kit with the blue PU bushing halves, the link and co.
And as Sean has yet again basically said I am a very unthankful person: A VERY warm and friendly thank you for the information regarding the bearing. I am VERY grateful for little tips regarding future jobs to do. Idon'to always say thank you, because it is a standard thing for me, that someone doesn't need to say thank you but is still thankful. So, just to make it clear: thank you again!
I think he asked for a part# and offered some sage advice on the bearing job - thanks goes a long way - just saying mate
Bit hard to thank someone when using the app, mate But yes, I am a very unthankful, rude, obnoxious person. Not everyone was born with a halo
Oh, and I understand the question as 'do you have the parts number for the bushes'...
But I correct my post, made sure that my intension was not to be a rude person and I express my thankfulness to a high degree.
Thank you for your tip and that a thank you never goes as miss. Especially since I don't see the need to express a thanks everytime, as I am always grateful for help...

Update :
Had the car on the lift everything in the rear looked snug & not to be knocking. Not sure where my noise is coming from. Noticed the exhaust system has been patched & banged around a bit, starting to leak. So I'm on the hunt for those components now if anyone has any sources.

Also how does one access the U-joints or zerks on these to lube them ?!
Edit
Productive day today, washer nozzle replaced, I can finally get the pollen off my windshield lol.
Undercarriage inspected on lift, caught an exhaust leak forming.
Since I'm a frequent flyer my paint shop quoted me $250 to respray my front bumper, going in Monday.
Cruise control switch installed & fully illuminated.

Went on a track day last weekend and a) removed a large amount of marbles from the all the tyres on Tuesday, also noticed a couple of stone chips on the bonnet.
Decided to apply some clear vinyl, yeah I know what I’m doing.
So after I come back from our trip down south the car goes in to have the bonnet repainted where I managed to rip off about a square foot of top coat to say I was rather mortified would be an understatement SWMBO seemed extremely calm about it.
When it is on the lift, the fittings are easy to access. Me, I had to lift it on a jack and crawl under it; next year, let the Indy do it while changing the fuel filter.
My trip/odometer switch has arrived, I plan to install tonight & will then have all my interior lights except the passenger door switch pack lights functioning ! I have the door switch bulbs on hand, just waiting to tackle all 3 @ once, likely when I do the door catch plate fix.
