What did you do to your X308 Today?

Took my car in to a new shop to try and have them diagnose the pulling left issue I can't seem to resolve.
On the bad side, my front left lower ball joint has a good 1/2 inch of play, and I just replaced those this January. Off to warranty it is...
On the good side, I finally found a shop which actually knows how to work on x308's! The service writer knew the rear axle shim setup off the top of his head, knows someone with a PDU, and so on... I'll be going back there in the future for sure when I need odd things repaired.
Hopefully the new ball joint + a proper alignment takes care of this issue once and for all.

In spite of what some will say, it is a big improvement without any drawbacks, and there is NO blinding of other drivers if you buy the correct HID's.
Besides of the standard sets (ballast, bulb and wires), you will need a BMW E39 hid adapter to prevent you from cutting up the Jaguar ones.
They can be bought on sites like eBay for cheap.
Then it is a rather straight forward process of exchanging the bulbs, and installing the ballasts.

Busy weekend as I prepare for a drive to Belgium next weekend, l got a lot done.
Yesterday I had a pair of new rear tyres fitted as the old ones were at the end of their useful life. I chose 275/40 tyres to properly fit the 9J wheels I’ve got on the back, the old ones were 245/45 and were streatched onto the wheel.
Today I carried out an oil change which was about due, I used an OEM Jaguar filter and new sump plug which I had delivered to my work on Friday. I was also concerned about my transmission fluid still being low, I’d heard the pump starve a couple of times. So I added some via the cooler line in the engine bay, which is so easy to do compared to the traditional method. After adding what I felt was right I went for a drive where everything was good.
Next weekend she’ll get a wash, I’ll fit her splash guards and then it’s off to Belgium for Christmas.

So my son's been driving building up experience for his 16th birthday in April & his license. I take the car to have it detailed today I notice something different w/ my tires, low & behold someone/my son has installed chrome valve stem caps w/ green rhinestones lol it's only a singular glass gem so it's not all garish, so I will let it remain. They appear to be quality pieces all metal w/ o-rings & glass stone, definitely not cheap Chinese ware, I'm curious as to where he got them lol.

As long as they're quality, and you periodically check on them to make sure they don't seize onto the valve stems - I had that happen with the ones that I got from Mina Gallery as freebies when I ordered my intake. I unfortunately didn't realize that until it had happened. Periodic loosening and tightening should be plenty.

They look rather impressive in the light, it's dark here.

Edit :
I'm going to find out the ETSY vendor & see if they could fashion me a trunk button sized stone in the emerald green. Going to see how these hold up firstly though.

The line comes out the radiator on and passes under the PAS resivour, it unbolts with a 19mm spanner. You may get a minimal amount of dribble but it’s not pressurised. I then used a transmission syringe and a suitable sized bit of tube to slowly feed it in, paitence is important here.
As far as the level checking goes, I’ve no idea. I was just fed up of hearing the pump starving and whining so added what I felt was right to stop it. No noises now, but it’s a terrible gearbox and the only thing that really lets the car down in my opinion. If it ever pops, that’ll be the last ZF equipped Jag I buy.

Found another nice half wood wheel off a 1999 XK8 w/ only 47K mileage, of course his price was absurd but I finally worked him down to my previously found wheel's price & free shipping, plus he ships w/ airbags = win/win lol. Doesn't have the snazzy metallic growler but the leather is in pristine shape w/ only 1 small wood defect. I think the wheel is remedial as well as cosmetic in my situation as I get a slight spring or cable reeling sound effect when I do intense back-to-back deep turning. From what I read it's air bag/horn contact spring related. This one should have a much longer lifespan coming in @ 47K mileage. If this doesn't solve the noise I know it's the clock spring.
Had a Sirius XM SXV300v1 tuner installed so now my vintage X308's up to date technology wise : blue tooth, hands free calling, satellite w/ streaming.

Replace a front shock that had lost its bottom bolt and damaged the bush eye and put a ding in the tube. It got trapped between the spring and lower A arm.
This was on a CATS equiped car so you need to insert a 8mm Allen key into the top of the shock shaft to hold it still while using a 17mm long spanned to undo the top nut.
Interestingly the lower bush had a smaller hole than what the lower shock support had (11mm) a quick push out of the bush and then into my lathe and a re-machine out to 11mm - problem solved

Noticed a slight pull to the right only whilest braking, so I assume my rotors are warped. Going to have them looked @ plus w/ the Pentas on now I can see how unsightly my calipers & old rotors are so I was intending to replace them anyways.

This morning I replaced the right rear puddle light. I noticed the other day the lens cap was missing. When I took a close look I noticed that the little retaining clip on the mount had broken. So I got a new one from SNG and installed it this morning. I did look up and printed out the instructions on how to get the trim off. I did alright and only broke one clip. Managed to glue that back on. And by the looks it had already been glued before.
When working on interior trim, out come all the special trim removal tools
New puddle light fitted, ready to install the panel again
Old clip broken off, once again?

I replaced the Bank 1 and Bank 2 upstream Lambda (O2) sensors. Right side was a breeze, left a hungry bear that drew blood.
Does anyone know what the life expectancy of the downstream Lambda Sensors is? I have 96K miles on my 2003 VDP and am how much of a holiday I have before the next challenge.
