sold one of my jags today......hated to see it go......i have had seven jags over the last 15 or so years....and every time i have to let one go i get the same feeling of loss. the people who present themselves as interested buyers probably think i am nuts.....i spend a lot of time trying to find out why they want to buy the car....have they ever owned a jag before?......will they take care of the car?....etc.....it's almost like i were trying to find a home for my two real cats....buddy and willow......you really can get attached to these cars!
Cars are people too

Had a mini-gymkhana and bbq lunch with the local Jaguar club. Had a great turnout, and lots of fun doing a few little games with the cars, like trying to judge the width of your car with a gate opening, trying to reverse as close as you can to a cone, etc etc.
On the way home I had the dreaded restricted performance issue come back
Luckily I still have the borrowed obd2 scanner. Codes P0121, P1642 and P1797.
Still, 4 months with the cable tie fix isn't bad... was hoping it would last a year though. Investigating a local rebuild option, as it will be a lot easier than sending it to the states... although I've heard the guy is quite slow, so it may actually be faster to get it send over

Replaced the thermostat after my hose breaking on me( the one that's been in there since I owned is still working and looks like a quality piece, waxstat, I'll hold on to it jic)
Replaced the right rear tail lamp assembly with a new one as the previous one was cracked while in storage.
Removed the headlamps(no breakage!) and cleaned them with windex and rinsed them with distilled water and the transformation was AMAZING!
Too ordered led's for the inner lamps and hope to have them by Tuesday and hopefully will match the headlights better than the yellow glow( relatively) the 194s give off.

Much better braking, the fluid was nasty and the rear pads were shot. One of the biggest annoyances (and a source of vibration) was that one of the front rotors was like new and the other had been turned multiple times. Possibly one was out of spec to be turned so it was replaced.

The auto function on the multi-function, headlight, switch quit. After reading up on the processes, removed the airbag, removed the steering wheel, and began to take the Cowling apart both top and bottom. Read instructions in this forum for all functions except for the removal of the top Cowling, fortunately Jim Lombardi had saved a piece from one of the members told us that there were three brass screws holding the top cowling on, found them removed them. Small gray wire had broken free from its post. Tightest soldering job I had done in nearly 50 years.
Reassembly went well. The function is back on, everything works great. Once again, the forum has save me a Ton of money.

I've owned by kittycat for 9 years, and unfortunately took her to the car wash a few times and ruined the paint finish. She is in the shop getting cleaned up...an't wait to get her back in a few days.

Paid for my Brembos ![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Huge thanks to SteveM for finding them for me and organising it all, you've been a real pleasure to deal with.
I REALLY need to find a permanent fix for my throttle body issues though, but somehow it's always more satisfying spending large amounts of money on 'wants', not 'needs'!

Porsche 407. I think its S & B body shop in ft lauderdale....to be honest I run everything I do to my XJR through my mechanic, ABS Exotic on Andrews in Ft Lauderdale. ABS only works on older/classic porsche, mercs, and jags. Not cheap, can be slow, but good quality. Angela (owner) at ABS uses the s&b guy for all her body/paint jobs, including her own personal car projects. It's a paint blend (not a full repaint) for about $2,500 including some minor body work to front bumber.

Installed my freshly painted front splitter that I bought used from SteveM(also previously installed fender liners from SteveM too).
Installed a fog lamp to replace my broken one(occurred in 2009 shortly before its long storage nap, thank you raccoon, sleep well) purchased from Dsnyder586.
Installed the rubber things for the trunk from Platinum XJR, thank you!!
So the car is coming along nicely, just need a visit from a reputable PDR specialist and then its off to figuring out if I want a polisher from Dewalt, Meguires, Porter Cable.....to then clay, buff out and wax this beauty!
Too I want to thank WaterDragon for the wheels I purchased from him and installed before last winter and everyone here on the forum making the ownership of this car much more enjoyable with all the help and support here!
Thank you everyone!!

I have a Makita, have done some award winning show cars with it. The Porter was my runner up. DeWalt isn't what they used to be.
