What did you do to your X308 Today?

Actually, first question: Is this an X308?

Since he mentioned 194's I am assuming that he is referring to the city or twinkle lights in the high beam housings. I have 194 LED's in there as well.

Lately, the "ASC unavailable" warning had began popping up and throwing the car into limp mode almost every time I drove the car.
Removed all four wheels speed sensors, washed them, fully dried and inspected. Cleaned and inspected the mating connectors at the wheels. Also, checked all sensors from the ABS plug in the engine compartment, as to confirm the entire sensor circuit integrity. Resistance on each sensor read 1,100 ohms (2002 XJR).
It appears that the fault is now gone because the last drives before I worked on this the warning was popping up within a minute or two. Not the case anymore.

I used canbus/error free LED's which have a higher resistance that will stop your faint glow. Most DC systems always have residual current available and LED's draw so little power that they light up a bit.
Mine are quite white and match my LED fogs and HID lows. I use these ones
Inside the car I uses resistors for cabin lighting.

Well got the car ready for my son for junior prom, these are some crappy cell phone pics and its needs a polish and some dents removed, but my son sees none of that and just see a great looking car he can't wait to take his date in
This pic is from a couple days ago, headlights pulled for cleaning and notice the missing front splitter and drivers side fog lamp(gone since 09). My son said the lack of headlights looks bad a@@! He suggested plastidipping the surrounds and getting dark film for the headlamps....
And here is how she is ready for some fun!

Ebay for the keys. $31.00 for the pair. New. I asked the dealer to cut them and program, but they said they don't cut, but will program. I did ask them who they used for cutting. Called the locksmith, he met me where I wanted. Cut the keys and programed them right there. Tested and worked perfectly. Cutting and programing for both cost me $100.00 plus tax. Cheap date. I recommend using local locksmith that can cut these type of keys, also from what tech said they must be able to program to be sure the key works. I looked like he was using an OBD reader too. I hope this helps. Can't believe I waited so long to do it. I remember the dealer was charging a lot, maybe $200.00 plus for one key.

If cutting and programming cost you $100.00 for both, how much was each job? I just want to make sure that the dealer here doesn't try to rip me off.
Indeed, you've done great. I've waited forever, myself, living with just one key and risking major trouble in doing so. I always thought that programming the key was a very expensive dealer service, so I simply procrastinated.
Thanks for the great info.

Yes. The locksmith did both, cutting and programing. So he charged me $80.00 for the fist key and then $20.00 for the second. The dealer told me I had to bring them the cut keys because they were the only ones to program, not true. I saved a fortune by just using the locksmith. Good luck my friend, and yes you will feel great relief with more than one key.

Thank you King Charles, bigcat and Forcedair! I cant wait to get a polisher and get her to really shine.
He enjoyed the car and prom. Too from what I saw, besides the limos of course(for the seniors there), he had the sharpest car there imo.

I will proceed with this, finally.
