Happy for you, Mike!
You can say that again -- I bought this car to put miles on it and that's what I'm doing! Best road car I've ever owned!

After 3 LONG months in the paint shop, I picked the car up and drove it home. The shop was patient with me wanting to replace lights, door gaskets and various other parts that did not look "new". Nice to be driving it again.
Now I understand why some people have two. One in the shop and one to drive.....

"Now I understand why some people have two. One in the shop and one to drive....."

As I remember the old Brit joke, it was, "you need THREE, one to drive, one coming out of the shop, one on the lorry en route the shop!"

Always found it fascinating that Found On the Road Dead (aka, Fix Or Repair Daily) actually improved the quality of Land Rovers, Jaguars, Aston Martins, and Volvos. I guess it starts with knowing which way electrons flow!

(with tongue in cheek; don't mean to pick on my UK friends -- but, then, maybe they won't be UK much longer, either).

Spent about 10 hours like Blackcat doing a restore. Claying, compounding, polishing and waxing.

This is a crucial piece of maintaining a car, you can usually just do it once a year. I tend to do all of my cars every spring and just add a wax coat every couple months in between.

Yes I agree, I fell off that wagon after my divorce and the car being in storage for 4 years. She will stay in shape going forward!

Hit a major dip in the road then heard a crunch I kept on, heard a scrub. Pulled over to see washer fluid streaming from under car, container hanging a inch from ground. Tried to semi-secure it up higher to no avail. Drove it half a mile to home lost the bottom half of reservoir. Now my nozzle was already out now I guess I'll tackle both @ once.

Anyone know what I'll need to secure a new one in place and also I seen some wiring attached was frayed to the copper. Links & diagrams would be much appreciated.

Did I mention this was directly after a dentist appointment lol. Upon closer inspection this has happened before as the under apron was scraped & frayed

That sucks!!

I replaced my XJR badge(it was separating inside the decal) that I got new from the UK for $25, I thought the Jaguar badge looked fine until I placed the new one on the trunk....looks like replacing that is now in my future lol

Yea the percocets & valium are keeping me from roaring lol the roads around here are horrible & getting worse with every heavy rain fall, now were in the tropical storm & hurricane season it's all down hill lol. Could've been worse it could've damaged my operating system IE radiator etc. that's first thing I thought as I had that happen with a lowered Mitsubishi w/ 2,500$ rims & it wrecked radiator,2 rims, crossmember & trailing arm lol.

Rant over,,,maybe.

The pictures look horrible! DOUBLE OUCH! Maybe it was a blessing after the dental procedure so you could keep numb and not be pushed into a flurry of online searches for a replacement lol

I understand your pain with lowered cars having had it happen a few times (one would think I'd have learned). Mitsubishi 3000GT SL wheels and damage, Ford Mustang wheels and damage (left a night shift to drop 6 inches into the road with no construction signs, cones etc). On the bright side no radiator damage or engine damage..and YOU have been able to enjoy your Cat as I and others slowly turn wrenches waiting to sit behind the steering wheel lol

Yeah it only damaged a system I couldn't use anyways due my washer nozzle being broke. I'll just tackle the whole system & do a new under tray. Already got attached to the car & hit most the known hot spots maintenance wise, this wasn't the car's fault lol.

I need to replace my under tray as well but it's pretty far down on my list. These cars are so addicting and I'm glad you didn't suffer a catastrophic failure. I'm not a fan of paying taxes and horrible roads needing repairs. I'm sure you'll have the entire system tackled and completed before I finish with my coolant system repairs this weekend lol Reading the forums is where I get my joy in the mean time. I've watched you and so many others-show the Jags the love they deserve. Rostman's restoration has been awesome to read..makes me wish I'd waited on an XJR lol
