Replaced the belt pulley on my 3.2l V8... As you can hear, the old one is definately f*ck*d. Cheapest repair so far!

My chrome gauge bezels from the UK arrived today, thanks to fellow forum member ericjansen for the heads up ! I plan to polish them, then thoroughly clean the car & install.
The last couple of weeks here in lovely coastal NC have been super varied w/ temps fluctuating 30 degrees FH in a matter of hours & involving torrential rain, sleet & snow. Safe to say the cars are in need of some TLC lol.

Installed the Mina Gallery door handle chrome finishers. My door handles were quite worn from years of hands rubbing off the clear coat and paint and instead of getting them repainted I covered em up. I like the look, goes well with the chrome around the windows.

Eric, how do you notice such tiny details in a photo? You are indeed correct the alignment is off, hence why it leaks in the rain. I have read up on the procedure for fixing it and it looks like a nightmare. I am not going to think about that right now as I am too busy admiring my shiny new door handles...lol.

Well, that was pretty obvious, although you tried to take the attention away by fitting some shiny new chrome door handles .
On the leaking, I think every x308 sunroof is leaking, and water is collected in the underlying frame, then drained through 1 of the 4 drains on each corner.
You might try to check the drains, I read they get stuck over time.
Sure someone with experience can come to your help on this matter.

Here's a non-chromie example XK (link on purpose, don't want to clog up x308 with x100 images):

Replaced the rear shock bushings, both uppers and one lower side. Turns out we didn't have exactly the right size socket or fitting to press the new ones in nicely, and since they actually weren't that bad, I just left the old one on the other side. I did however, find that the rattle in the rear wasn't the shock bushings (they weren't really that bad but hard to know for sure until the assembly is out and at that point, no point not putting the new ones in), but rather, the sway links had basically disintegrated on each end. No bushing left at all on either end. And guess who didn't bother to notice that earlier, and so didn't order any? I found some that will work though at AutoZone, and since I can pretty much do that in the driveway, I'm replacing them tomorrow. I left them out for the drive up from my step-brother's and it's SOOO nice to have quiet in the back.
I also had intentions of replacing the Vee mounts in the front. And guess who never bothered to check the package and realize he only ordered one by mistake? So that'll wait until next weekend, or at worst, the following. Kicking myself for that. And since I didn't bother with the front end, I also didn't bother replacing the sway bar bushings, nor the upper shock mount bushings. Sways are nothing, but the mount bushings will wait until the Vee's are going in too.
Overall, productive anyway, and sure quiets down the rattle in the back. Now to sort the front out before my road trip, change the oil, and call it good for a bit.

Does this thread really mean my XJ? I've been working on a boiled 2001 Daimler V8 since Friday. Owner drove it with no coolant, after the thermostathousing cracked. Result is that all the exhaust valve seats have dropped and the engine is a capital piece of poop. The car only has 110k km (about 70k miles) on the clock.
So I've been rebuilding heads (new valves in some raw heads), assembling it and etc. The engine now looks like an wngine again, I just hope the first start upnwill show that it will run normally again. The VVT was very sticky, so I hope I haven't got to touch that again...

1600 + mile 2 days trouble free drive.....broke 100,000 km
Took my 99 XJR on a 2 day trip from Fort Myers Florida back to Toronto Canada .. just over 1600 miles in 2 days..... Trouble free ....
Hit the 100,000 km (62,000 miles )mark on the way home .... Hard to believe in just over 6 months of ownership I've racked up 20,000km ( 12,500 miles )
I just don't want to get out the the driver's seat ....
