Replaced the next set of timing chains on an X308... Again a 4.0l with VVT and all worked out purr-fectly!

Purrs like a new car. No rattle, chime, ahatter or what so ever... And all tensioners and guides had cracked - car was from 1999. Again a good job replacing all the parts and not only the upper tensioners.

3rd set of chains done since January

Good to know: now I know where to get a dipstick o-ring. Pretty sure it is the source of my air leak (STFT doesn't change when I pull the dpstick out), and haven't found a small, fat one to fit. If not, I'll have the rest of the gaskets!!

I thought maybe you got an extra spark plug seal. It's the VVT seal.

Nice!
I did the same last year, and I think it does very well with darker colored cars.

Found it, the small o-ring is for 'oil tube' where dipstick to check oil level goes... I wish I saw this thread earlier:

Had the lower ball joints, and tie rod ends replaced followed by an alignment.

What a difference! No more creaking suspension, or steering wheel vibration. The car now tracks great on all surfaces. Used all Lemforder parts.

Very happy with the results!

Only before/after accurate lighting comparison I could accomplish
a few vids I shot today that shows the look a bit too, having fun with vinyl before new paint, wife hates it but hot wheels fans seem to enjoy. Oh yah she is in limp mode at the moment due to programming so 3rd gear take off, no "real" drive off sound yet

Sharp. I'm getting my BRG re-painted soon, I have your kit on my "Watch List" via E-Bay I think I'll pull the trigger.

Cheers

Brg should look great, i'll have a kit fit to the front indicators of a silver X100 XKR soon so we can get an idea of how that tint contrasts with lighter colors too. New brg paint is exciting i cant decide if I want to be safe and respray black , "risk" a french racing blue, or do some sort of metallic dark blue. My buddy wants me to try orange, I don't think it would be a good look on an x308 but you never know

Might not be straight orange, but I always kept this picture of an XJS Coupe, as I think the color is marvelous.
There is an old BMW 525 in my neighborhood, resprayed in the same color, very good looking.

Received notice today that my bodykit is ready for shipment in Japan, painted in the final color (or so I hope), just need to arrange transport.

Now I can start dreaming the modern look of the grand old XJ40 Chasseur's, medium rims, large tires, spoilers and skirts all around, but not too eye-catching.
We will see ....

Picked up a perfect match burl wood shifter off E-Bay, was a steal @ 65$. Had been hunting the correct color & pattern, it finally emerged lol. Recently added bezels, new bulbs to my dash so we should be sitting proper real soon. Pics will be posted after detailing.

If you're in the market for a quality handmade shifter @ a great rate, look for E-Bay user "zahnieblack".
