I presume you left the rear silencers in place, but still; straight pipes and cutouts, is that not an overkill?
What were your thoughts on not leaving the original system, and bypassing it on demand with the cutouts?

The intake needs to be modified to be able to take full advantage of this variable system.

But, I'll bet it sounds REALLY mean!!!!

That's a 6am warm up in the driveway:icon_ speaker1:

In this exhaust ive only replaced front muffler with 2,25" xpipe and straight pipes. All next four mufflers are stock.

So with cutouts opened it sounds like this :

And with closed :

Thank you, that clarifies something .
I will still go for cutouts parallel to the complete system, but I have a N/A and am not looking for and power increase.

Nice one ...I do agree there.

Although those video's are actually bad to represent the sound, I can imagine how it sounds in real life .

I only notice how low the cutouts hang in Alex's case.
If I do that, I will ground them at each and every garage entry /exit.

Checking on some nice low profiles right now which I can tuck away even higher then Vector's.

Excellent news, Scotland is my favourite place and I was up near Blairgowrie for a week last year for my holiday. I'm looking forward to going back and taking my own X308 over the Spittal of Glenshee.

I have had no problems grounding with mine in 3+ years.

DMH will do the low oval cut outs like mine on a special order basis.

Well, not today nor yesterday but last week's Friday... I think I badly injured my ZF tranny...

I normally don't do anything like this but I thought "Ha, once won't hurt". So I wound the engine up to around 3000 rpm and chucked D in (I know, you don't do that). There was no big bang or so... The tranny took it... BUT...

When driving a little while, it starts to smell like some ATF is burning. Gear changes are "okay", worse than before. Before I could be rolling, put it in N and before stopping, if the lights when green, put D in and it wouldn't make any noises. Now it mikes a little grind...

So I'll be checking the fluid and seeing what I can do to help this. Might just be the Jurid coupling between prop and tranny is f**ked or the tranny mount rubber thing.

Is this a sign I might be getting too old?

They installed the magnaflow mufflers today

This car now sounds awesome.
One problem: It's SUPER loud.
It sounds like I'm at the track.

I'm not talking muffled loud, I'm talking straight-pipe, very deep sound loud.
It's not whiny at all and no popping.

Just the raw, deep sound sound of horsepower.

The magnaflow mufflers are straight through tube mufflers installed at the rear position with the tips welded on. Just straight pipes going from the cat to the mufflers at the rear. Nothing in between.

I LOVE the sound, but it's real loud.:icon_ patriot:

Need to install the new calipers in the front and install new plugs.
It's just too damn cold out today. 15 degrees with wind chill of zero.
It may warm up to the 30's, but Tuesday it's going to be 60!!!!!

New wheels should be here Thursday. Yay.
I'm tracking them every day

My custom New York State "BLU KAT" license plates should be here soon too.

I painted some parts in preparation for fitting, seeing as its constantly raining here at the moment.

Now I'm off to do an 8 hour shift that finishes at 00:30.

Weather warmed up a little.
Installed the new plugs and did the pass side front caliper.

Started on the drivers side caliper and bent my lug wrench. UGH..
I guess I'm quitting for the day..

Oh well, I needed a new star wrench anyway.

The cheap jag lug wrench just twisted like a pretzel!,

I guess I'm doing the drivers side one day this week.
Can't wait until the clocks go forward next weekend. More daylight when I get home from work to tinker and work on the car.

Warmed up just enough to install my Mina intake tube. Dug out my K&N and shield from the shed, and put it all together.

Tomorrow comes inspection (thanks NY State for being stupid about what's allowed but that's a discussion for another day), and then I get to park it for a little longer while I await parts and tools to do the wheel bearing in the left front. Really do miss driving it though.

I replaced the three rubber grommets holding the little hydraulic reservoir at a cost of Euro 0,66 a piece.

In all my years of working on cars, these must have been the cheapest parts I have ever bought.

Took her for estimates for repair to damage caused by lumps of broken concrete paving slabs being thrown from Fort Regent, an old anti French defensive position, about 70-100 ft above our car park. Police suspect "kids" but don't hold out much hope of catching anybody. Don't parents today know or care about bringing up their kids with a little responsibility and respect for others and their possessions?

How on earth does one reduce the size of pics for showing on site?
