To read real time data from the ECU. Want to know what my actual temps are. Plus, it will be helpful for other things as well.
For my 93 Vette, I use an obd1 bluetooth adapter and an app on my phone. Is there something like this for my 02 XJ? And, I had to get an adx file for my vette, and load it into the app. Would I need to do same for my Jag?

elm327 bluetooth obdII adapter with the Torque phone app are what a lot of people use. Been meaning to get around to it as well. You shouldn't need to load any settings into it. I'm currently using a Innova 3040 handheld scantool for error codes and some basic livedata readings. If you want to get fancy, you could look at something like AutoEnginuity.

You can see different brands in use on youtube . Torque doesn't have as good of an example of a video as someone set me the live data graph in a posting on this website to resolve an engine regulation problem . Will have to find it . You have to realize that some values like HP are calculated and not directly measured and can be way off . There gimmicks

I have heard good things about the Torque Pro app everyone is referencing. I have used the Ultra-Gauge Blue for about 3 years now. It gets automatic updates from the manufacturer regularly and I've found it to be very reliable. Just my input...

Nope , Parameter Identifications ( or sensor name with value ) as you construct a graph or dials to observe . I don't have experience with Torque so I can't say how to change that brand's
