Its interesting to see this mentioned, as I have always thought the lights are pretty good on the X308. I have driven all sorts of cars and am always glad to get back to my XJ's "WW2 Search Lamps"

That said I do have Yellow H1 bulbs in my main beam to be a little different!

Audi always have been ahead with things though, even now they are still quite innovative in vehicle development. My Dad used to have a 1986 Audi Quattro in white when I was born in 1986, and replaced it with an Audi 90 which was a cool car I remember from my childhood!

There's just something about circular headlights that make them illuminate very well. The lights on my Mercedes, despite being very close to being the Euro spec, were terrible in comparison.

Another example I have first hand experience is with my 1975 280S. It has the US spec circular lights enclosed in the rectangular fixtures, as pictured here. They light up like no other and the Euro style lamps don't have anything on the US spec.

Here are pics:

Oh yes, my 2nd dislike - why oh why rely on electronics, I had an ABS sensor fail when icey last year, I made a turn and got going, and the car went sideways, the guy in the next lane's face was one of horror as he saw my car coming towards him, drove to work like an old maid, and tore the wheels off when I got home, one lump of grass removed and had the abs trac all working.
Now if Jaguar had fitted a powerlock dif this drama first thing in the morning would not have happened.....this is why I have Quaife's phone number and ATB diff will be fitted this year.....

You have to see them side by side. HUGE differences. I've just picked up a couple of Audi projector lenses off Ebay and plan to build them in to the standatd headlight with 35W HID kit.

X3 on the cupholders. With the acceleration the XJRs have, your coffee ends up in the back seat when pulling away from stop lights. Fortunately, I drink it black.
ixj8it, just turn the auto reposition off and your wheel will only move when you ask it to.

Here's something else I'll add to my list, though this isn't Jaguar's fault! I can't find a detachable towbar/Hitch for it anywhere!

There were loads on ebay at one time and now they are like hens teeth now I decide to get one for mine! A new one is quite expensive but I may be forced into having to buy new. (£300 new About £150 used)
I defiantly don't want one that is permanently attached to the car because they don't look good. If anyone knows of or is selling a detachable Towbar in the UK please let me know.
Thanks Guys!
S.
