Default What happened?

Hello everyone! Yesterday, I got in the Jag and when I entered, the seat moved all of the way to the steering wheel when I put the key into the II position since I have auto mode on; moved every part of the seat forward.

I moved my seat back, then hit 1 to go to my memorized position, and it again, moved all the way forward. All of the memorized seat positions have been reset. Not to mention, the radio, and climate control were off and I had to turn those back on. What happened? I'm still trying to find that "sweet spot" to get my seat as the way I had it before. Thanks everyone!

Have your battery load tested at a auto supply store or garage. Low battery voltage can result in strange things in the Jag,

That's odd because I had a brand new battery installed a few weeks ago.

I was not implying that was the only possible cause, just the easiest to check. To me, that would be preferable to having to check the various modules and then find out the battery was low.

I uploaded the TSBs for memory seat diagnosis and repair in the large file area. Most people leave the mode switch in the OFF position when one or more feedback pots (position sensors) fail. I rarely repair them anymore. I did dozens in new car warranty but only a few for 'customer-pay'. The sensors are about $300 each and there are 5.

The labor is probably 4 or 5 hours to replace all 5 so for $2000 you can have the seat back to fully functional memory until the wire harness under the seal becomes faulty from the rocking/twisting/chaffing.

If the seat moves manually then you might want to leave the switch OFF but that is your call.

Having similar issues since a battery disconnect. I have it back on the tender & will see if the seat issues clear.

I think someone posted a thread on how to reman the seat position sensors with a reasonable amount of effort and a bit less money. I'd just set the column switch to off, and avoid using the seat memory buttons.
