Mine has 131,500... It runs excellent without any problems. The rockers were fixed and new paint job on the way. I hope it lasts for another 100,000 miles...

What milage is your 308?

Wife's 99 XJ8L has 104,000 on it. 12 years ago it had 65,000 when I bought it for her. That's 3,900 per year.

I *think* there is someone with over 200K on the boards.. You know, aside from rust there is no reason these cars can go indefinitely- just replace parts as needed, and you are good to go. All jaguars I have owned have been over 100K, My XK8 is over 150K and my daughters X308 is over 130. The way I see it, if you sock away the amount of a regular car payment, you can use the money to completely rebuild your X308 every few years.

Yep. I just looked up a CNBC report (albeit) from March that said the average American car payment is $471/month. That's $5652 per year, not including gas, insurance, etc. That's a lot of yearly repairs! This year my X308 cost me… um… the price of material for the headliner.

That said, I'm about to tick over 107,000 miles and have money put away for the transmission when that time comes.

Cheers!
Scott

I'd be equally interested to hear about the lowest mileage 308s out there. Perhaps we can rename the thread " What is the highest/lowest mileage 308 out there?", if that's possible.

My 2001 XJ8 just passed the 50K mark, but I'm sure there are lower mileage cars out there

151,267 on my 1999 xj8l. Runs perfect and is daily driver. Well daily driver split pretty evenly between it and a Ducati.

Just curious... what was the problem with the rockers?

133K on my 02 XJR. New to me, bought it last week.

The salesman at the Jaguar dealership yesterday (I was picking up a part) was trying to sell me a new $95K XJR. I said I'd rather wait until it was worth $6K.

195,000 on my 98 xj8. I spend $3,000 to $4000 a year. It is much better that when I bought it 3 1/2 years ago.

Hey Lear, do you anticipate spending that much going forward, or do you think it will taper off?

Like anything repairs go in cycles. The car had over 160,000 miles on it when I got it.
I just kept throwing enough money at it until most everything looked and ran the way it should. I think I will be able spend less for a year or two and it will be time for an new
interior. I drive about 10,000 miles a year. The smart thing to do is buy a car with
a great maintenance history and just run it until it blows ups. That is more economical than buying one that is high mileage and has no repair history.
At least I saved one from the scrap yard.

126,500 on my 01 XJR. It is my daily driver, and it is technically better now than when I bought it from the original owner at 79,000 miles. This means that while I have kept it basically stock, I have fixed all of the small things that didn't work as designed. Not skimped on regular maintenance, original paint, no rot (southern California car). I would drive this car anywhere now. I really enjoy driving it every day.

Ouch, I hope 150ish isn't high for an X308! 145,000 on my wife"s VDP. I'm hoping it will be around for a while longer.

Well RR my car is nothing exceptional other than being in concours condition ;o))
It has just ticked over 215,000klm (133,500 miles)...82,000klm (51,000 miles) of that in my ownership over the past eight years and is truly a beautiful car.
Yes , I have had all the usual XJ8 maladies over the years but happily have all been sorted when need be and it still purrs like a big cat should with 5,000 mile oil changes using 5W40 full syn.
G/box has been flushed twice and uses Castrol Trans Max-Z (which I believe goes under another name in the US)
Diff has been drained twice and uses 75/90 GL5 full syn oil.
95 octane fuel along with a can of complete fuel system cleaner 3 times a year and that's about it...still running on all original components, g/box has been rebuilt 9 years ago (before my ownership).
All shocks were replaced 8 years ago with Bilsteins OEM...one replacement serpentine belt.
Long may he reign! ;o))

~66.000 miles on my VDP.
Not often on the island this year, still managed to add 6k miles in the last months.
Ready for a total engine upgrade (incl. tensioners, waterpump, VVT, etc), rims + tires, and suspension bushings.

What are the rockers? (I'm a newbie lol) I have some little wobbling in my front suspension/wheels that will need looking into. Its not bad just not firm like car should be.

Mine has 134,962
