I have 234,xxx on my 98 XJR. It is in process of getting a valve job and valve adjustment (cringing) by my self. Just bolted one head on last night. It'll be running in a month or two when I get more time to work on it.

Only 122k for my 98 XJR. Ive done all the major maintanence work, as previous owners never did much at all, aside from changing the oil!

I bought my 1998 VDP in July 2010 with 34k miles. Since then I;ve driven it daily, now has 110k. I have replaced the tensioners (did that right away), tires and did the trans in 2012.

Runs like a dream and I still love it! I kind of miss the electronic gadgetry in the new cars, but this is truly a peach!

I have 130K on my 1999 XJ-8. It is in great mechanical and cosmetic shape but I have spent way too much money on it. New transmission which lasted only 25 K miles, now on 3rd transmission. Replaced plastic timing chain tensioners. Needed new head gasket about 10K miles ago. Gone thru 3 radiators in last 5 years. Lot's of other little things. My question is when to stop spending money on it and how far to go to keep it going. I will say I love the car including the classiness, design and ride and would rather have this car than almost any new car out there. Wonder if anyone else has an opinion about this?

82,900 on my 2003 XJ8 base model. Metal tensionners and guides from the factory.

No major issues but some niggly little stuff, perpetual small coolant leak (think it's either from the coolant reservoir itself or the piping under the manifold), gas gauge shows full for about 40 miles after filling then hits the bottom of the gauge and puts on the light. Leather steering wheel is showing sun damage and needs replaced, rear seats could use a re-dye. But nothing else drives like it or ever could. Love my jag

I've got 191,XXX on my 1999 XJR daily driver.

Back seat looks like it was never sat in too.

My 2003 XJR just turned 96,000 miles. In the two and a half years since I have owned it, I have done a few repairs but nothing that I would consider ridiculous for any twelve year old car. Lately I have been considering selling it because I don't drive it all that often anymore, but every time I slip behind the wheel the thought of selling vanishes.
