Default What is this part for?

It is located at the front of the car just behind the fin and in front of the radiator. Perhaps for battery trickle charger? Thanks all in advance.

I can't see the entire fitting but it appears to me to be the ambient air sensor. Piece 5 on the attached parts drawing. It needs to be mounted to the bracket shown in the diagram.
It tell the climate control what the outside temp is. You can try checking the temp on the ac panel and then unplug it and check it again to be sure it is the sensor.

I had to replace the one on mine because the heat would only work on high not automatic. Ambient sensor said it was 136 degrees outside.
