I just figured it out, the part I need is the sunroof control module.

My sunroof button only makes the motor run one way. When I hooked up a new motor, same result.

When I took this part out of my other 2002 XJ8, the motor works opening and closing directions. I took it apart and sprayed contact cleaner on the button, but it still does not work...

There is one "sunroof control module" on ebay for $68 that fits the 2002 XJ, does anyone know where I may find a cheaper one??

Thank you in advance for your help

It's called an 'overhead console'.
The part can be found in salvage yards but the trim would have to match unless you are just using it for the GDO parts.

Yes, I am only needing the module which houses the control for the sunroof operation. Anyone know where I can get one cheap?
