What size are the lugnuts?
On a 2002 XJR what size are the lugs? I've tried both a 22mm, and a 7/8" and they work to get them off but the nut always gets stuck in the socket like the socket is just slightly to small.
The lugnuts look like the one in this picture

The link that you gave, shows nuts that look kinda like the ones on my 2004 XJ8, but there not the same. I found while trying to change a flat tire that the nut has an outter nut that will spin on the inner nut if you aren't careful. The tow truck driver couldn't get them loose either and he towed the car to my house. My electric impact wrench got the job done. I have been planning to change all those poorly designed nuts to ones that are made by smart people.
I JUST NEED A ROUND TOIT. I LOST THE LAST ONE THAT I HAD.

It is probably a combination of being slightly oversize and those "skins" wedging in the socket.

It's interesting you brought this up. I got a flat on the highway yesterday and of course I could get all of the lugs off but one. The crappy tire iron that came with the car kept slipping so I had to call CAA. It was pretty degrading to have another guy change a tire for me but at least I could stay in the car and be warm (my parrot was in the back) It was nice to have a spare that had the same rim so I bought a used replacement for a spare and of course a new tire iron.

At least you had the parrot to keep you company.
I see, that makes sense. So with the cap on the nut what size should it be? Is the cap just such a poor design that nothing fits 'perfectly'.
