Headlights or headlamps are the lights/lamps at the front ( head) of your vehicle and do not describe the type of lights
What describe it is either low or high beam
To answer the question, while some cars have different bulbs for low and high, a lot of vehicle use the same bulb
What make it a low or high beam is the shape of the reflector and therefore the shape and reach of the beam, as in low or high, of light

All four units use the same H7 halogen bulbs of 60watts output.
The difference in achieving either low or high beam is the actual shape of
the reflector at the back of the light unit.
As these light units age they get a 'blume' build up on the inside of the reflector and the glass and it's a simple matter of removal and actually washing them in dishwasher fluid and replacing the globes with Phillips
X-Treme Vision H7 globes....these will increase light output at least three times and provide a very good light at minimal expense.
Making sure of course that the light units are properly aligned helps
as well ;o))
If you would care to view my Powerbase pics, it gives you a good idea how to do this ;o)
