Default What's the fastest you have driven your XJR?

For those lucky enough to live where it is legal or taken it to a track.

Standing mile 2012: 240km/h / 149.2mph. This was real measured speed. Not what speedometer shows.

( from 14:30 )

Good run: I have done 125 on I95 in South Carolina, but wasn't confident tires would take much more. Pedal was there!! NA 4.0 2001(anthracite); 115 on I75 in Fl in the 2001 BRG (even more concerned over tires).

Although I bought my X308 of Ebay when we lived in Kansas City, I took the car back to my home country the Netherlands. From where we live I am in Germany on some unrestricted speed Autobahn within the hour.

I have had my Jaguar up to 265 km/h (166 mph). This was what my GPS was indicating and I was still accelerating, so true speed must have been even a little higher as the GPS speed lacks behind a bit when accelerating. I must admit I did ran out of bottle long before the Jaguar ran out of puff!. Lifted at that very moment!

Although this car will easily reach this speed, it is far from comfortable (and it does not feel very safe/stable at those speeds). It is incredibly noisy, and it shakes and rattles like anything. Did it once, never again. Came close once drag racing a Tesla on the Autobahn. I am happy to report that our cars out accelerate on the 150-230 km/h) a Tesla easily!

These days, when on unrestricted stretches of Autobahn I will happily cruise at 160 - 180 km/h (100-110 mph). That is still quite doable, although this car does show his age compared to say a modern Jaguar/Audi/BMW at these speeds

Maxed out the speedometer on the 417 belt around Orlando, so somewhere around 155. A Lexus 460 wanted to run and kept teasing, so I went and he didn't..hehehehe. Was kind of on the way to that again on I-4 with a Porsche 911 Carrera as we pushed each other until we saw the constables light bar hiding in the center divide and we got it throttled down in time..I think we hit 110-120.
On I-95 I've only managed 120'ish ...too much construction.
In either case, massive airflow cavitation on the windscreen (the wiper wasn't designed into a speed test obviously) and mirrors. The ride was smooth, well balanced tires and solid joints, ...just noisy.

About 6 years ago I just got done putting heads back on a moderately modified XJR 100. I got on the on-ramp on a normally very busy highway. When I merged on, there wasn’t a soul in front or behind me and I saw that opportunity as if God himself parted “the Red Sea” just for me and punched it. I got it up to 130 mph and let off. That car was not designed to go that fast in my opinion. Too floaty and was a bit unstable at that speed.

My personal XJR I got up to 110mph.
