Default wheels for xj8

I have a 1998 xj8 with 16x7 inch wheels with a 4.75 inch bolt pattern. I would like to upgrade the wheels with some from either a 2000 xjr or a 2000 xk8. Will these wheels fit my car with no problems?

Yes they will, but try to stay with 18".
If interested I have a set of like new Asteroid. (was on my 01 XJR b4 changing to Milan)

PS: I noticed that you're in PG, I spent 18 years on HWY 68. Now in Paso Robles

Subject to correction, the 2000 XJR wheels are a much safer bet.

Your 1998 XJ8 and the 2000 XJR are the same X308 chassis.

Look at my photo album. I switched out the ugly 16" VDP rims to 18" asteriods. Huge difference in appearance. I will never go back! Handles much better and the car feels more solid and planted. The steering even stiffened up and has a bit more feel. If you like the ride of BMWs, go for 18". If you like a smoother more Caddy like feel and softer ride, stay with 16".

What condition are your front suspension bushings in?

I assume the bushing are OK, honestly I have not checked.

I would have an interest. Its just a short drive down to Paso Robles if we can come to a deal. What kind of price are you thinking?

I use a set from a late 90's XK8 for my snow tires - on my R. I know my local dealer still has take off wheels that are 10 year old -- I would ask your local dealer. I think I paid 350 for the set.

Thanks to all who responded. I think I have plenty of info right now and some good leads. This happened much quicker than I thought. Thanks again!
