I want to have made the short negative battery cable but having a hard time finding the terminal end that connects to the post at side of trunk. Is it likely to be found at a welding supply store or can you suggest where to look. Also, what gauge cable wire would you recommend for a heavy duty better than original equipment cable.

I just like heavy duty cables, got some double 0 copper cable for free from a friend at a welding supply store, had some exceptional quality ends from an old fashioned auto parts store crimped on after not being able to find the trunk end I had hoped might be available somewhere, so I just used a couple of copper washers I got at the hardware store to snug fit the other end from battery post. Total investment in a super heavy duty cable was just a few cents over twelve dollars and its mighty nice, much nicer than a seventy five dollar OEM or six dollar standard off the shelf auto parts store.
I had been having negative battery cable problems with the original which included intermittent total power loss, even after cleaning and didn't feel like messing with it anymore, and finding it more fun to create the new one that I did :-)
