Where is the speaker for the interor chimes?

That would be under the steering column
on the right hand-side, behind the perforated
section.
Mine isn't working, and despite my being a
teenager, my back hurts too much to
get under there right now. There are a few
torx head screws holding the panel in place.
Mine worked on the last XJ, not on the XJR.
I have become acutely aware of whether
my signals are on or off.

Follow the instructions in post #44. Pull the
white plastic pins carefully.
I was under there, and found nothing wrong.
speaker isn't blown, and the connectors are
all plugged in. I also checked damn near every fuse in
the car and none were blown.
I am stumped.
The sound is purported to come from the body
processor module. I believe you have to take the
glovebox out in order to look at it.
