window tint and head liner?

I did the headliner in my XJ8 with a brand new Jaguar one. (about $800). The one in my XJR is sagging now.
If you have a long wheelbase car, the headliner will come out through the back doors without bending.
If you a have short/standard wheelbase, it won't.
You then have 4 choices :
Cover the headliner with new fabric, in situ. I have heard of companies that will do this, for a reasonable price.
Install saggy-stoppers (or equivalent), in situ.
Try to remove the leadliner very carefully through the back doors so as to bend it, but not permanently kink it (impossible in my experience).
Have the rear window glass removed to allow the headliner to come out, that way.

Local auto upholstery shop . . .
Local auto upholstery shop did mine. Something under $600US.
There is a thread here somewhere that describes how to do it, including removal of the rear door and breaking the headliner in half in order to get it out of a standard XJ8/XJR. Very specific and good details on how to do it.
Read it, went to local auto upholstery shop and had it done for under $600US. While I am a DIYer for many items, there are some jobs that require prior skills and specific tools that are wiser left to professionals if the price is right. The price was right for me as I consider the $600 well spent and avoidance of a LOT OF AGGRAVATION.

I did the headliner out the back door.
Removed the front seats to create more space.
Was a very slight crease but nothing visible.
Cost me $60 in parts and 4 hours one afternoon.
Do not trim too much around the sun roof like I did. Leave excess to wrap around the pinch strip to hold the center up.
Paid $160 to have rear doors and back window tinted.

I re-covered the one in my SWB XJR myself. I took it out the driver's side back door. The shell is flexible, so while not easy, it is possible. I spent about $75 in materials, took about 3 hours (not including drying time). It's help up very well so far. One note. Leave some material around the sunroof hole. You have to wrap it over the sunroof frame and glue it up to the frame. I didn't know this going in so mine is held up in the middle with some nice metal clips.
