Default Windshield wiper issue

This should be an easy fix, but it's running me nuts. My wiper blade ('99 XJ8) skips a spot in the windshield about six inches square right in front of the driver. Nothing I have tried cures this. My latest attempt was replacing the blade assembly with a new one from Bosch. Same problem. It doesn't rain a lot here, but it does happen. Anyone else have issues with this - and if so, how did you resolve them?

I'm going to guess that you tried scraping/cleaning the windshield?

A photo of this phenomenon would be cool.

does the blade move all the way across the glass like it is supposed to? I had to put a washer under the nut and tighten it back up and works like new. It had just been barely moving or move one time and stop.

If I can figure out how to make it show up in a photo, I will post it.

I haven't noticed an issue with the travel of the blade.

Have you checked the spring tension on the arm itself?? Maybe the arm is weak and not allowing full contact on the windshield
