Hi there.

My 02 XJR's windshield wiper is driving me nuts. The mechanism works OK, but it leaves huge streaks in the middle of the windscreen and the blade doesn't even touch the windscreen in the bottomright and left corner.

I have changed the wiperblades many times and the best results so far are with universal flatblades. "Normal" wiperblades are more or less useless.

It looks like the arm isn't applying enough pressure unto the blade.

Do any of you have any good suggestions as what to do?

The easy answer is to replace the arms. Maybe they were bent at some time in the past.

 

I've tried to tighten the springs, and also bent the arm a bit. Bending the arm inward worked best. Obviously, be careful trying this. It's still not perfect, but at least the middle is getting cleaned now.
