wining noise when I start driving & engine getting stalled when I stop (all until car worms up)
Hello, I have 2000 xj8 (108k) and in a last few months when it got cold I started to have these problems. When the engine is still cold (after I worm it up for 3 min or so) and I start to drive and my speed reaches about 15mph a strange wining noise comes up from the right side of the engine. Sounds like a noise from a drill a little. Often you hear this noise from a bus when it leaves the bus stop. If I press acceleration pedal several times (deep) or when engine finally get completely worm - noise disappears. In addition to that at the beginning (when the car is still relatively cold) and if I stop at an intersection and press stop pedal, engine can just stall. Ones I got a message gearbox fault and another time just a low battery indicator. The only solution to avoid the above is pressing acceleration pedal several times as deep as possible. Why is this happening and how much am I looking in repair costs? Thank you in advance. (PS: belt has been recently replaced)
