wiring what is it for

does anyone know why this item the fender/wing jaguar emblem(in pic) has wiring and what does it do? My car does not have any wiring attached to it....

It's the wiring in place that, if you had indicator lamps instead, would operate that. They 'plug' it there to keep the socket in place, even though it doesn't do anything.
