Wood in the x308's?
I have been looking at a fair amount of VDP supercharged editions online and it looks like the wood is faded in a lot of them, like 75% of the ones that i look at have faded wood. Is that common on the x308's? And also how expensive is it to get it fixed or refinished?

I don't think fading is that common. Having cracks in the finish is really common, and if you're looking at 2001's, 90% of those will have milky finishes.
It is expensive to refinish correctly. It's "easier" to find a complete set out of another car, but then again, chances are all the wood trim for sale is going to be cracked also.
The only fix for the 2001 milky wood is complete refinishing too.

The wood veneer fades, cracks and gets cloudy. I removed alot of veneers for repair IN WARRANTY so I would guess that years of service is not helping matters.
Here is an old TSB with contact info.
You should disregard the prices as they are from year 2000 and they are for Jaguar dealers.
I think they still do the warranty repairs.

My 03 XJ8 has cracks in ALL the wood panels -- don't think it's worthh getting fixed, but it IS kind of ugly! I try to think of it as normal aging for a nearly 10 year old car that has been in the Florida heat the entire time --- but....if I found a set without cracks I'd consider replacing mine if the price was right.
