Would these exhaust tips fit the X308?
I have a 2000 VDP with the N/A engine. I want to replace the coffee stirrer sized OEM exhaust tips with something that is a bit larger to better fill the bumper space.
These are the tips I'm looking at
Polished Clamp on Exhaust Tip 3 5" Rolled Edge 2 25" In | eBay
I haven't been able to find what the inlet diameter would be for the N/A exhaust system and I haven't been able to find the outlet size of the XJR exhaust tips. Ideally I would like tips with an outlet around the size of the XJRs' or slightly larger.
Btw, how do you remove the OEM tips? I see the screw that holds it in place, but it doesn't budge and WD-40 doesn't help. I'm a bit concerned with trying to turn the screw too hard for I fear something in my 12 yr old exhaust system will break.

I think it might be held on with 2 screws? I've not got a standard exhaust, but from what I can gather the diameters are the same for 8 & R. 2.25"...the ones you link to are clamp fit over that diameter so no issues fitting.
Maybe remove the tail section and work on the tips is easier than on the car. But saying that it can be a 'mare just removing them, as the bumper needs to come off - Jaguar sandwiched the rear hanger UNDERNEATH the bumper mounts for god's sake....
To fit aftermarket tailpipes you usually have to cut the original exhaust slightly to get a nice fit, you don't want them poking out from the bumper - if they get touched it could be a new catalyst. I've 3.5" round tips and they look good, not ricer.
For a pro install go to an exhaust shop and get weld on tips. Go further and get axle back stainless steel pipes with the tips already on, an easier job and adds bass to the exhaust note because you delete the rear resonator and go straight through. That mod doesn't affect the cabin noise either.
