Default X308 1998-2003 radio fascia replacement piece

There have been 10's of 100's of requests that I know of for this piece. I ordered it from England off Ebay about a month ago for $80 after a couple years of searching. The seller stated it was for 1997-2002, but as you see, the label states otherwise. It took 3 wks to get here (US) via the Royal Postal Service. Perhaps you can find it cheaper or more local now that we have a part number. I'm sorry if the amount of pics messes up folks with lesser internet speed, I did resize them.

Am I correct in assuming that it must be in gear for you to insert/remove a CD?

Yes, that is the downfall of a roll out screen and that dang brace the runs across the area above the unit is the enemy. I really wanted to either do a Pioneer dble din or move the head unit up to afford accessibility. I had even designed a shorter shifter knob that I was going to have a local Jag wood worker make. But as time has endured, the use of thumb drive downloads, which is actually easier and holds thousands more songs and a few movies, has kind of led to not using the CD slot. I put the USB in the center council. I have the SIRIUS receiver tucked in behind the center council insert. I can take some pics if you want?
That particular head unit (VZ 401) is an all in one type. It has Sirius, camera input (I'll be using for my TPMS), USB, ipod, navigation (purchased separately and hard to find), Bluetooth and is touch screen. I really don't recommend that one, its really outdated. I have an NZ503 in my work van and its more compact and the touch screen more responsive and the nav is imbedded.
But, check out dc4prez's install, he made a serious effort on his install... https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-159191/page3/

I'm probably going to keep the stock radio in mine.. But I am sure other members would appreciate the pics if they are looking to do the same thing

Thank you very much. I was hoping to obtain a dash kit for a Double DIN as I really want to add a touchscreen with back-up camera.

In order to put in a DD you'll have to cut out the support brace behind the dash under the climate controls and even then I don't believe you can cut high enough to get the whole unit in. That is why I went with a SD with a flip out monitor.

That part still shows as available on their website - good info to have for anyone wanting to replace their oem unit these days.
