Good morning all. Looking for recommendations for best replacements for brake discs/rotors, rear and possibly fronts, for my X308 1999 3.2Litre Sport. Based in UK best type to buy at best price possible. Had the fronts done and had to be replaced twice due to warping. They have now done it again. Am thInking of having them skimmed. Not sure which manufacturer these front ones are. Views On this appreciated. Just thought I should add this car does get DRIVEN so I really need very good rotors and pads.

Skimming the discs will guarantee warping.
If you want the best, get OEM from the dealer. Pads too.
If you want something that will do the job there's loads of UK suppliers.

flush and replace the fluid, and add braided hoses for a slightly better feel.

If the rotors are low miles and have enough meat, you can consider having them skimmed.
If you can get the shop to skim only what is required, and do it in multiple light passes using a slow feed, this might yield the best result. You should barely hear the cutter making noise on these passes.
This used to be done by club racers so that the rotors did not warp. The theory is that the rotor material has gone through enough heat and cool cycles to take a set. As a result, the skimmed rotor will not subsequently warp.
Of course, machine shops do not like to do it this way because it takes time. So, you have to find a willing shop and operator.

Most rotors don't have enough "meat" on them to do much cutting. Certainly not enough if they have actually come out of round. My local dealer will clean them up ... but they are not really "cutting" them ... I guess what Plums is describing ... I'm talking about rotors with 20- 25k on them ..you can normally get two sets of pads out of them.
As to rotors -- you often get what you pay for .... purchases cheap and get problems and labor costs trying to fix and often replace.
