Hi everyone,

Another headlining thread here, but I couldn't find details on this particular question. I was going to replace my headlining, but I live in Canada and own a Canadian 2001 XJR, so there might indeed be some differences.

I thought the delivery prices from jaguarheadlinings.com were outrageous so I went on ebay and bought one there, only to pay the same amount at the end. It came quickly (at least something for a 150 GBP delivery fee) but then I noticed the differences, see picture. I followed the most famous youtube video on headlining replacement and noticed when I disassembled my old headlining that I do not have those alarm sensors, nor do I seem to have that bulge around them. Luckily, jaguarheadlinings.com can send me one specifically for this model, but I'm just wondering why this difference exists?

Also, how the hell do I get the new one into the car? Bending the glass fibre mats seems impossible, and I surely don't want to take out the seats or rear window, haha.

 

Some countries have INTRUSION ALARM SENSORS but the North American market does NOT.

Maybe that is what you are describing?

 

that makes sense, I didn’t know that. Will have to order one without those holes I guess.
