Default X308 Rear door stuck !

Hello all.

My X308, 3.2 litre was built in 2001. It is left-hand drive (France).

Not so long ago, I tried to open the right hand rear door from the outside and something snapped off. I have no idea if it is a rod or the lock actuator.

Then I tried to open the door from the inside and that does not work either. So am now stuck with a stuck door.

I suppose I have to take the inside door trim off so I can see what is wrong.

No easy task, I suppose I have to take the back seat off to get at the trim but not sure if that will work with a closed door.

Has anyone got an idea please ?

I have the complete workshop manual on a CD, 2200 + pages, but practically useless and it does not cover that type of repair.

Thanks for any help.

Takeo.

you are on the right track...remove rear seats and then the door panel, it was probably a clip that most likely broke, now normally Id say it should open from the inside (both my rear doors open from the inside not outside) so either you have two broken clips or the child proof switch was on in that rear door. I have not tried this so I'm guessing but you could call a body shop and see what they would do, or the dealership....good luck

The interior door panel can be removed with the door closed, there's a YouTube video of a guy doing it to the front door - he had the same issue as you - once the panel is off you can reach in and actuate the latch manually to open the door and then repair whatever broke.

Thank you guys ! The video is also useful. This will be a summer job since I do not have a garage.

But, obviously something snapped or broke off !
