I have been studying the Leatherique Tutorials on refinishing a leather steering wheel. The steering wheel needs to be removed to apply the spray finish.
Anyone pulled the steering wheel in an X308? Is there a step by step? I am thinking about buying a wheel from a salvage yard that has the wood inserts and installing that since I have to take the wheel off to refinish it.
My concern is removing the air bag module to be able to get to the wheel nut.

If you do a search on this site you might find a few instructions, but this is what I did -- I took my car to a local shop and paid them $50 to swap my steering wheel and airbag (I bought a wooded steering wheel without the airbag and used the airbag from my leather wheel). I did this only because I didn't feel like messing with it myself, however I've removed steering wheels with airbags before, don't know why I didn't want to do it on my Jag!
