XJ sport trim question
I'm looking at buying a 2002 XJ sport - every model I've ever seen (be it only 6 or so) have had the grill in the same color as the body... my question is - is a chrome grill on this XJ Sport indication of possible repair - or were they an option?
Body colored door handles and trunk trim are intact - and as I have seen before.

Hi Corey,
All XJSport came with the monochrome (bodycolor) grill and inserts. However, a lot of owners modify the cars somewhat, and changing the grill is one of the quickest and easiest ways to do so. This is no more than a 10 minute job, and I have the Chrome grill with the mesh inserts. This may be irregular, but I like the looks with the platinum paint.
A mod like this would not be much of an indication of something wrong at all, but check the body under the bonnet and from underside. Also, always use a service such as Carfax to check for accident reports.
