Default XJ X308 1998 Water pump pulley, OEM availability / aftermarket / used?

I recently acquired an XJ X308 3.2L from 1998 with 182.000 kilometers in good condition and due to high pressure in the cooling system decided it needed a new waterpump and thermostat to prevent any problems in the future. Also replacing the belt.

The whole job went just fine (these cars are incredibly easy to work on compared to my earlier cars!), except for the water pump pulley. It was so stuck, after trying to pry it off with two screw drivers and giving it some taps it would just not let go. The specialist inspecting the vehicle when I bought it told me it was likely the original water pump, and recommended replacement. Due to the pulley being stuck I was left with no option but to apply more force, and I’m afraid the pulley is crooked / bent now.

in my search for a new water pump pulley the OEM one seems discontinued.
What would be the recommended course of action? I haven’t been able to find an aftermarket pulley specifically for the X308, so am I left with the option of searching a fitting generic pulley or getting a used one from ebay?

I'd but a used one off the ebay. I'm guessing the second market for water pump pulleys is minimal so a wrecking yard may let it go cheap.

I have no idea where you are located, please add your location in your personal info, that makes helping you a lot easier.

I bought a whole new Airtex (Jaguar OEM) for USD 35 on Rockauto in the USA.
More Information for AIRTEX AW4124

I also saw the same price range for a complete pump on one of the specialized Jaguar part suppliers in the UK (I think it was Berkshire Jag).

For that money total replacement is a no-brainer imo.

You have mis-read his problem.

He cannot remove the water-pump pulley, and may have deformed it. He is looking for a replacement water-pump pulley.

Haa, forgot the new pump didn't come with the pulley.
