Exclamation XJ8 3.2 has a slight " Cough "

Good afternoon all , hope someone can shed some light on this.
Vehicle idles nice and smooth and runs ok , however, Ive noticed that if its idling and you put the foot down to rev it , it has what can only be described as a slight "cough" before revving as it should , any ideas/thoughts?

Could be anything from a faulty plug, coil, cat, ...

You might have a look at fuel trims and also for pending codes in the hope of clues.

No fault codes showing, coils were replaced a few months ago but runs great out on the road, just noticed it really the other day but looking to try and solve a "minor" issue before it becomes a "major" one , thanks

Had the same issue with my last 308 before I bought it. Once purchased, Cleaned the MAF, the throttle bore and plate and made sure the air duct was tight -- issue resolved. I think cleaning the throttle bore and plate did the trick. New plugs, air filter, and secondary tensioners, later.
