That COULD be because that is where the circuit is loosing power, or, of course, it could be the park switch. Since your wires are already knackered, why not get the meter on the motor leads and see if it is actually loosing power Red, high or purple, low speed wire) and see if LS11 or LS12 are pulled in. Check to see if the park switch (red-yellow wire) is actually changing state when it stops midstroke, or if it stops for some reason besides the motor assembly.

Hi
Use part# LJA2226AA to search ebay.com - they have a lot of used wheel speed sensors at various prices ( lots lower than Jaguar Dealership parts dept list price of $268).
Gaudin Jaguar parts.com discounted price is $217.50 plus shipping.
Try calling Greenville Jaguar Parts in North Carolina - tell them you are a Jaguar Forum member and they will give you a discounted price and free shipment on parts over $25 (price maybe a few dollars less than Gaudin total price with shipping).

Hi Jamie
Your electrical issues sure sound like they are related to the BPM - Body Processor Module. Could be a loose wiring connectors, malfunctioning relay or fuse.
There are a number of fuses that the protect the BPM (one of the heelboard fuse boxes has 2 fuses - one for BPM and another for the Body processor module - battery supply for solenoids, lamps and motors).
Since I do not have a 1998 Jaguar XJ vechile care handbook, I cannot tell you exactly the fuse number location or if it is the Left or Right heelboard fusebox.
Here is a PDF file that gives infomation on the inputs and outputs of the Body Processor Module along with the other interacting modules:

I found an Ebay listing for a set of handbooks with case for 1998 XJ - Buy it Now price $29.98 free shipping. It has all 4 books - Drivers Handbook, Sound System Guide, Security System Guide and Vehicle Car Handbook.
1998 Jaguar XJ Owners Manual Sound System Vehicle Care Security System Books | eBay
Sounds like a good deal, especially if you do not received when you purchased your car.

This website has the full set of Jaguar circuit diagrams for various models-including all the relay positions-as well as the Parts Catalogues for numerous models:
www.captainjaguarscathouse.com
Click on the Reference tab on the LH side, then click on the Electrical Reference tab to access all the wiring diagram files-then just choose your model & year...

Hi
I made this JPEG of all the Relays in the various locations - copied from 1998 XJ Wiring Guide page 29:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/92trpg692y...0Locations.jpg
It does show and identify the relays better than the Vehicle Car Handbook.
You can view the JPEG in your internet brower (just click anywhere on the image to view at 100%, for larger view increase the zoom level to 125%) or use the download button, then direct download option, then open (opens in your whatever default picture viewer on your PC) then it can be saved on PC.
Check the relays in your car against the images and relays listed and see if you have put in any relays that do not apply (ie possibly stuff such as inner cooler pump, powerwash relay, etc).
The Vehicle Care Handbook does give a detailed list of the fuses in all the fuseboxes. I have PDF files for the 2000 XJ, but when I compare the fuse sizes to the 1998 fusebox wiring diagrams, they are not the same.
Unfortunely there is no simple diagram in the Wiring Guide for all the fuses that are located in the various fuseboxes that give their use.
There are fuse diagrams for each of the fuseboxes, but most do not say what they protect. They just give you all the input and output references (symbols some with FIG number references to other wiring diagrams).
