Default XJ8 interior/rear view mirror alternative

My interior mirror went into the graveyard, proceeded to the Jag Wreckers, none available, but the wrecker had just added another vehicle to his inventory; Land Rover Discovery's and low and behold the mirror off the latter fits straight onto the XJ8, mind you its a manual dipper, but otherwise great even down to the Trim covers.

I take it that interior mirror came from a similar year disco?

It makes sense, all the same company, JLR. Head bolts are cheaper if bought from Land Rover than Jaguar, I wonder if it is the same for the mirrors?

donnelly 011530. Ebay search shows some Acuras have it as well. Some might have a different mounting style though, can't remember.

Alternatively, you can junkyard a leaky/broken x308 mirror, cut the ball off of the original mount, and jb-weld a newer year auto dim mirror on, and just splice wiring in. You'll lose auto headlights, and auto dim outers if you have them, but at least it won't be a flippy mirror, and newer autodims use a gel that won't leak. And could have things like a compass if you get lucky. I used a gentex I found in some GM suv at the junkyard until I was able to repair my OE mirror.
