Default XJ8 Loose Driver seat switch pack

Hi guys, have any of you had luck repairing the loose driver power seat switch pack, seems like 80% of used xj8's have this switch loose and just hanging outside the seat, very annoying, thank you, JJ

My XK8 was the same. I just put some clear silicone seal around the edge of the switch and wedged in until it set. I can pry it back out if necessary.

Thanks I was just wondering what causes, it is a broken switch or something broke inside the seat itself?

No, it's the latch at the back that breaks when taken apart by someone who doesn't understand how it works. The problem is that it's not easy if you haven't seen how it releases. RJ

yes there are 4 tabs on the back of the switch pack...buy one ebay even if it is the wrong color it is easy enough to take apart and switch the parts around...

The only way to get a new switch retaining bracket is with a new seat cushion. They come molded into the foam.
You can cut it from the new cushion and glue it into the old cushion if you want.

Odds on only 2 of the clips (the top ones) are broken. In which case a couple of self tappers through the switch pack surround and into the seat base plastic will do it. Use black countersunk ones and it pretty much looks like it was meant that way.
