XJ8 owner in France...
First let me say, "it's hell to get old". A while back someone in France was posting threads with pictures of their progress restoring the body (wheel arches mostly) on a dark blue XJ8. I can't remember the name of the poster or the topic of the threads to search for them but now that I seem to be thru the initial set of problems with my 99 XJR the little woman is starting to notice the failing clear coat on ours. I was wondering if anyone had done touch up, like the French owner had been doing, where the clear was wet sanded with fine paper and re-cleared. The clear on ours is only bad in a few spots, les than 2" dia each, so I don't want to scuff and re-clear the whole car. If anyone who's done touch up on theirs could weigh in or the original (French) poster sees this and could point me at that thread that would be great. Help an old guy learn to fish as it were! Thanks.
