Hi all,
Welcome to the forum, Yardpro. If I understand it correctly, the seat and steering column do seem to function properly as far as moving to the correct position. But this behavior won't work with the manual controls.
It seems that the various modules, motors, relays, and etc. are working as designed. Using the oneline from Gus, it seems that the MANUAL switches for both the seat and the steering wheel are supplied with power from the lefthand heelboard fusebox fuse #8 (5 Amp). I've attached a snipet from the oneline.
And happy birthday to the wife!

thanks for the help guys... i will be taking a look at it this weekend... I will check the fuse first, since it feeds two otherwise unrelated switch packs that are not working, it seems that that this would be a likely culprit...
If not i'll try the reboot.. how do i do that, pull the battery terminal?
the wife LOVES the car...
i drove it 12 hrs from Cleveland to coastal nc, then back to the mountains, and back to the beach last week for a ski trip... i will have to say that this is my favorite car we have yet owned...
we have had a 528, 535, Mercedes, Volvo, park avenues, and latest was a 99 Cadillac sts.. i like the power and handling o the jag the best..........

thanks for the responses, i have been out of town for a little while...
OK.. I went to check the fuse last week and could not get the panel under the rear seat off. The manual shows a slotted "bolt" (the plastic retaining tab thing), and saws to turn it 90 deg and remove... neither one of mine are slotted. They are smooth and i cannot grab them ti turn them.. did they change to a similar type to the interior door panels that need the forked tool to remove?
thanks for all the help... we also just had a no start issue i am posting about in another thread.

wanted to give an update..
it was the #8 fuse. I finally got around to checking it tonight.
someone had replaced the turn type retainer clip with a standard door panel type clip.. it was a bear to get off, but i finally got it.. and walla....... fuse was blown..
anybody know a source other than the dealer for interior parts like the clip, etc..?
