Default Xj8 transmission fluid?

So whenever I get a new X308 I’d like to do the fluid change and I always do a transmission filter I’ve had both clear brown fluid come out and pink fluid. When I refill it I use Castrol import. I have been having good luck with it. I was just wondering what kind of transmission fluid is the brown stuff that comes out it looks like a 30 weight almost? And is that the original fluid or something that someone else using aftermarket? Or is it an additive?

The brown ATF is most probably the genuine ZF fluid, called "ZF Lifeguard 5 ATF", specifically designed for ZF 5HP transmissions. It is also Jaguar p/n JLM20238.

That was the second time I’ve run a crossed the brown fluid. I believe they were supposed to be sealed for life but I had to replace one transmission once now I service all of them I swapped out the filter clean the magnets inside the pan then I added some better magnets to it always a little tricky getting it filled up seeing as though the Fill plug is next to one of the pipes. I couldn’t do it off the temperature making sure the fluids warm inside the transmission it’s been running up on the lift I have someone up and they’re kind of cycling it through park neutral drive etc. when it’s up to temperature and I’ve got the fluid coming back out I call it good and plug it upIf there was an easy way to dump the reservoir in the radiator or cooler that would be helpful I thought about blowing it out but none of the hoses are easy to get toIf there was an easy way to dump the reservoir in the radiator or cooler that would be helpful I thought about blowing it out but none of the hoses are easy to get to
