Couldn't disagree more about the value vs a base XJR, they only made 500, the interior is unique, the window trim is unique (for U.S) the wood is unique, scuff plates, wheels etc. IMHO the base XJR looks like a gentleman's/executive hot rod, the XJR-100 looks bad-***, period. (But I'm a little biased😂

They are never going to be collector items. Show me a valuable Jaguar sedan?

It's an XJR with a few cosmetic changes ... a brake package and wheels? It the same car?
In the old days you could special order the interiors -- somewhat like Porsche. My 1995 X300 had the optional almost white interior. Personally -- I prefer the standard R wheels.
When I bought my 02 XJR the dealer had two 100's (that they could not sell). I drove them back to back .. and could not tell the difference in the brakes vs the standard R. This was going to be my DD and I did not want to have to concern myself with wheel damage -- or the much more expensive maintenance on the brakes going forward.
The X308 was getting old in the market -- the X100's was like every other "special edition" .. an attempt to bring something different with little additional expense.

To me that would be more of an "honor" thing than a money maker.
And to only produce 500 at the "extra cost" surely didn't put there numbers over the top in sales for the year.

I'm new to the x308 board so I'll just have to assume negativity is accepted over here. I can be a little short in my responses at times BUT I at least try to understand that while I'm entitled to my opinion I do understand that what doesn't appeal to me may be very appealing to someone else and I surely don't run around SPECULATING as to what JAGUAR as a car company did or didn't do. WTH?
I'm not "speculating". I was around when these came out ... ?
Doing special additions at the end of a run is nothing new.
You can like them -- I like them. They just are not worth much more. I was not being negative ... I was just pointing out the desirability and value vs a stock XJR.
The 2002 XJR's had no options .. list was $72,475.00. I honestly don't remember what the price difference was for the 100's. They had a hard time selling them ... my dealer had one on the floor for over a year.

They only fit a few cars.

"an attempt to bring something different to the market with little additional expense". YES that is "speculating". You have NO idea what Jaguar was thinking when it comes to the bringing of the XJR/XKR-100 to market. I can "speculate" that it wasn't what you wrote (I was around then too). Our local dealer had no problem selling the one he had. And yes, I take your view on the XJR-100 as negative, after all......like you said, IMO!
