Brandon , 1st My main concern is how much force should be applied to the bolts for removal ? I heated the inner wheel to hopefully loosen the Loctite to free up the bolt
but I was concern that I was applying too much torque and did not want to break or strip the bolt trying too remove it. Any advice ?
2nd where did you get the bolts how many came in the package and how much did they cost ?
Thanks
Dirtboy Nay
Any pics of your calipers? Sounds nice. I bought the gold screws off ebay. They are titanium like OE, but just gold plated. Haven't really done much lately. Been too busy. Shop that is redoing the wheels gets really busy. So I still haven't gotten the centers yet. In the meantime, I cleaned the inner barrels of the wheels.

I was worried about stripping and or breaking the bolts also. I didn't heat them up or anything. Just used a 3/8 snap-on ratchet with a 3inch extension, and a snap on m8 socket. So yes, I loosened them all without power tools. These came off as easy to me. I was taking apart my corvette wheels,(fikse fm5's) and they have 40 bolts per wheel. So, made removal of the Montreal bolts seem like less of a hassle.
The bolts I got from ebay. Sold in packs of 10. 19 bolts per wheel, but of course, 1 is for the air valve. Total was about $320 for the bolts.
Quick update, that probably no one cares about. Stripping the paint off is a serious PITA. And, they aren't polishing up to the shine that the trim rings have. Not happy with that, but might end up buying new trim rings from SB.
Wheel shop has had my centers 6 weeks now. It's one guy that does the work, and he gets lots of work. So whatever.
Dam I miss driving my car. Wheel centers are still at that shop. You can see their name in the pic above. Almost tempted to buy HRE's off an E39 bmw. I doubt the 5x120 vs 5x120.65 makes a big difference, especially with wobble lug nuts.
Before on the driver side caliper. Surprised how good it cleaned up. Did this long ago. I did touch up paint chips with touch up paint. Decent match. Rear caliper looks great after a bit of elbow grease.
Also, I will not use this wheel shop again. Anyways, as I said before-the wheel centers are getting brushed. Pics below to show what brushed is. Incase you don't know.
bottom pic is brushed.
Perhaps I should install the Bosch I/C pump and +1.5psi pulley in the mean time.
Oh, and I did buy new trim rings from SB Wheels. Thanks @Addicted2boost for the heads up! SB is great to deal with. They arrived to my house in 2 days. He included o rings for the air valves. Do recommend.

Glad to hear SB worked out well for you. About 5 or so years ago I was scouring the interwebz for a replacement Montreal wheel and couldn’t find one. I then decided to search for it on the UK internet and found SB. He seems to have the hard to find parts for sure. I’ve seen quite a few BBS wheels without the trim rings and I just don’t think they look that good. The BBS Sepang wheels for example, on the X350 XJR’s look amazing but just lose most of the luster without the rings on.
I hope you get your wheels back soon. I think a brushed finish will look awesome. Are they going to apply a protective coating over it after they brush it?
Definitely install the pulley and pump. Depending on who you got the pulley from, you’ll need to clearance the snout. When I rebuilt my second charger, I just took the empty snout over to the stone wheel grinder and slowly ground away at it. Was it the right way to do it? No, but I wasn’t willing to wait days/weeks to get it done by a machine shop. It’s been running fine for thousands of miles with no issues. I’m getting ready to send a whole charger with TB intake elbow over to high speed lab to have the rotors and internal case coated and have him gasket match port and polish it. Then I’ll get the meth/water injection installed.

Yes, they are going to use a glossy clear coat. Powder coat would hide brush work. I've been working on my 92 zr-1 on the weekends, when the time allows me to. But yeah, I should make time for the I/C pump and pulley. Pulley is from Powerhouse UK.
Your plan sounds good! Whenever I have to take my blower off, it'll get ported also. And do a crackle red finish on the intercoolers.
And yeah, after polishing one whole wheel lip, the shine wasn't as nice as the trim rings. So said screw it. An early present to the Jag.
