Before you leave. I would stock up V8 Engine restorer and 10/40 royal purple, a 5,000 mile round trip in a x308 is not ideal. BTW, your Supercharger should be cleaned with this
Amazon.com: 3M Marine Metal Restorer and Polish (18-Ounce Paste): Automotive Amazon.com: 3M Marine Metal Restorer and Polish (18-Ounce Paste): Automotive

again nice job on resto. I hope you find some Jag rims soon that fit your taste. The XKR Detroit's would look great.

Took the Jag to the racing track for a quick ride. It was really light because i don't want to broke something one week before my long trip to UK begin. Car feels great but i understood that XJ is really not for the racing tracks even if it's R. But this is ideal car for the highways.

Recieved all new underbonnet hoses to prevent any leakes while will be driving to the UK.

New Spacer 6.0 mm for rear right axle.

And rear bumber silencer heatshields.

And new cooling cap.

Drive car to the garage to have them replaced. Repaired one front woofer. Just cable upclipped from the speaker so it was easy to repair.
Just one tube wasn't replaced because it seats under the supercharcher and i haven got more time to to this because i was leavinf to the UK in a few days.

Whe i take off dorr card i have drivers window switch cheched because lamp were not working and i found that lamps melted the plastic thing what light uses to go through to make buttons lights. So it must be replaced with a new one.

Also the lamps are in bad condition. They are covered with some blue resin and this resin became like a plastic.

All the interior looks like new except floor carpets so i went to the company who is making the caprets and choose the best one to make look everything clean. Old ones where in a good shape but they have holders from both sides. Ussualy gum floor mats goes new like this so you just cut this holder from one side you don't need but it seems guys didn't know that they must did it this way.
And drivers carpet was damaged a little bit.

Right side is what i have now. Left is what i was done new. Feel the difference.

Done.

Just some pretty pictures

I have ordered a new bonnet lining because my looked pretty tired. And because it is too big to ship it to the Russia i asked guys from SNG Barratt to bring it to the exhibition. And i replaced it on the field and the old left there.

Old

New

And i also bought a few door and bonnet seals.
Some time ago i have ordered new CATS shocks from SNG Barratt. When they were delivered i was affraid that right connectors on the car are missing so i send photo what i find on the internet to the garage and they said don't be worried because i have the right ones on the car.

This is connector on the damper.

I bought some booklets on the exhibition. Now i now in what colour X308 could be painted, what colour was interior, What options you can ordered e.t.c

When i was driving back home from the UK i stoped in the Poland to have my wheels balanced. When the polish guy was installing left rear wheel on place he said hub is damaged and the wheel is getting to hard to get on place. We looked on the hub and it looks like somebody damaged it with the hammer. So it must be replaced.
He tries to grind it but no luck.

When i arrived back to Moscow i decided to replace left hub and all bearings on the rear.

Also my upper shock bushing seems to be damaging and needs to be replaced.

I thought it is pretty cheap thing to replace and then i saw in the parts catalogue thath this part is supplied jus complete with top shock mounting and the price is huge!
I'm not going against original Jaguar parts but this one for me looks illusion so i decided to get a set of new urethane bushes from Motorcars LTD.

And long time i can't find the right pistons for mounting rear bumber exhaust heatshields.

Then guys from Russian forum finaaly find me the right ones so i have orderd them from Barratt.

Ordered a new resonator.

New middle exhausts.

And fond new tailbox right for XJR with XJR tips. Another one ordered from SNG Barratt with other parts.

Find this steering wheel in Netherlands. Thinking about purchase it to make all wood inside be one colour.

I'm trying to find tha part numbers for all underbonnet labels. For now find those ones:

Side airbag warning label HNC5093AA front door

cooling fan MNA7691AA

Refrigeration information label MNC7702AA

The left one on the top is emission control label. Doesn't be installed on EU XJs.

Then i fond the left one on the bottom.

Order new wheel nut jack because i haven't got original Jaguar.

This peace find on eBay for cheap and bought it also.

The worse thing that i went to the garage to replace the dampers and they called me that the front ones are wrong. I was waiting for them aprox. 2,5 mounthes and they send me wrong dampers. The number on the box was right but inside front dampers were from XK8. Damn...

New exhuast arrived on my Mail forwardind address in UK

Middle exhaust.

New jack

And now i'm waiting to be this everything be delivered from UK to the Moscow.

Also ordered those parts from SNG Barratt.

Updates!
Bought a new NOS window drivers switchpack.

Accidentally i found that rear number plate lights looks very bad.

I try to take off the glass cover and see what's the problem. On the left one i saw the crack so all the dust comings throgh that crack inside the lamp.

On the right one there was some rusty bolt and i can't unscrew it at all.

So i decided to order a new ones.

Then i saw that oil is coming out of the AC and i wasn't sure is it comig out from the tube or the preasure sensor.

I made a small research what's this sensor. The funny thing that AC is working fine but oil is leaking and leaking.

Air conditioning pressure switch LJA7658AB

This is a preasure sensor made by Bitron and can be purchased from the SNF Barratt for $40.

I found the photo of the car in the internet and i really terrified that color of the car is different. I decided to have car completelly respraied.

Ordered a new orange side markers.

Shock absorber upper bushing kit arrived from US.

And new neck for the windscreen washer fluid reservoir.

Downloaded workshop manual and started to prepair for the respraing.

I have orderes the tape for the coachlines JLM11829.

But then i found that this's usual 3M product what can be purchased for the price 2 times less. 3M part number 06314.
http://catalogue.3m.eu/en_EU/EU-AMP/Mas ... ape/Scotch®~Fine_Line_Striping_Tape~nocode/Scotch®~Fine_Line_Striping_Tape~06314

With this tape you can do couchlines easily.

In the workshop manual it is written that upper coachline on the XJR and XJ Sport must be 1.5 mm, bottom coachlines 3 mm each. On the Daimler 3 mm all of them. On the XJ8 1.5 mm.
And the colour of the coachlines depends on the body colour.

New switchpack arrived.

Get a new parcel from SNG Barratt finally with new right dampers and a lot of other stuff.

New right tail exhaust box.

A few weeks ago i went to the guy who is braking Jags to buy a center dash clock with vents. I wish to mount an iPod nano 6G instead of the Jags clock to stream music from it. Also the clock on the iPod looks pretty the same like Jags clock. I'll be just trying and not sure if it can be done. Lets see.

When i arrived to this gut i saw so many parts there. I do not like used parts but i like to look on the places like this to find some treasures.
Bought a complete set of original rear parking sensors with dimmer, control unit and wiring. Bo
Bought the preasure sensor for the AC to check is the problem in the hose or in this sensor.
And two number plate lights.

I was thinking how to place the parking sensors exactly in the place where they must be. I was thinking that on the bumber from the backside must be crosses showing where to drill the holes.
Retrofit must be very easy. Control unit is in the boot. It is conroled from the rear gear lamps. Just connect and go.
And went to see how respraing is going on. Rear wings were rewelded. Rear bumper adjusted exactly in the same level as rear wings.

A little bit mess inside the car.

New dorr switchpack installed.

Also bring with me new screw rivet to mount heater shield on the rear bumber.

And i found (thanks this forum) thу document how parking sensores must be installed on the bumber. Very easy!

I'm trying to get back all labels what are missing in the car but there is one that i can't find anywhere so i decided to draw it by myself. Than print and job done. I've made a photo of the same Jag. Put the photo in the CoreaDraw and draw exactly the same label but what match my car.

Bought a new shocks fot the bott and the hood.

Found a new cover inside the boot on eBay. Bought.

And bought a new set of treadplates to make them respraid because on the last ones are some marks whicj i do not like. Must pe perfect.

And there is what i get in the parcel from Barratt.
New tail pipe.

New nuts for the CATS shocks.

New seatbelt covers.

New door finishers.

Rear seatbell covers.

New 5w lamps.

New screw for the center underhood finisher.

New labels.

New door buffers.

New screw rivets for the hood insulation and rear bumber heat shields.

New underhhood insulation.

New complete exhaust arrieved! Finally!

New bolt jack key.

Respraing continue. Masking tape apllied.

The colour of the coachlines must be "Black Cherry".

Rear bumber with the holes for the parking sensors.

Ordered a set of original Penta wheels with 245/45 R18 Pirelli tyres.

New shocks for the trunk and the bonnet arrived.

Some pictures from the respay.

New parking sensors looks very good.

And a few days after finally picked up the car from the respray.
Cleaned everything inside the car.

Cleaned the engine.

New threadplates installed.

Heat shields installed.

Wiring for the reaк parking sensors also installed. Now it must just be connected.

And we get so beauty.

The front seats guides where a little bit rusty so i ask guys to respray them.

Was:

New wheels on.

Parking sensors connected and working. CATS suspension also working now. Rear accelerometer was faulty.

New insulation installed.

All the labels stick under the hood.
