Default XJR coolant expansion tank R&R

Mine is leaking, so I need to replace it. The plastic hoses atached to it are from 2012. Should I replace those as well? Most time I've had to disconnect those, I break them where they snap into place. So if I do replace them, looks like I have to remove the two things that say "supercharged"?

Are you speaking of the 2 rigid ones on the front? I'd just check the O-rings when you pull them out and if they need replacing, probably not, but if so...then Harbor Freight sells a 180 O-ring set for $10.

I'm talking about the plastic hoses them selves. The connectors give me major grief when removing them. Most times, I end up braking the plastic clips. So I'm just curious, to replace the plastic hoses, does it require removal of the two "supercharged" things on top? What are those called anyways?

The intercoolers shouldn't have to be removed just for the rigid lines. It'd be way easier to unbolt the reservoir and move it back.

Tank got to me like this. Not cool. Wondering if I should send it back.

That looks like crap...it appears they may have pressure tested it (doubtful, the seams don't look good) and horribly patched the leak. Then threw it in an empty cement mixer to scuff it up a bit. I'd send it back.

Thanks partsgeek. For sending me a coolant tank that is ready to leak, again. Also, I ordered some plastic coolant lines. They forgot to include one. Refunded me, cool. Still slows me down considerably.

See where the tank is split?

This last pic is how it should be.

I'd at least fill it with water, plug the ends and see if it leaks.

I don't see any splits. The lines you show are where the top part is fused to the bottom part during manufacture.

Hard to capture on camera. It's minimal, but it's there.

Got it back together. I used two picks to get the norma clamps off. Didn't break them like I usually do. I did buy all new replacements. But I'll be keeping them just incase.
