Nationwide will replace the engine regardless. I put full coverage on my XJR for $31/month.

trans will not be affected as it is sealed and separate from the engine. Unless the rod came out the back and through the flywheel (which is virtually impossible) you should be ok. if the rod didn't take out the pan rail or webbing near it, that block should still be good

Regardless of what? If you don't have the coverage they don't pay.

Also -- be careful .. full coverage does not mean anything (not an insurance term) You can still have lousy insurance.

If you are speaking of comp and collision -- it's in that ball park depending on how the car is valued.

Ok so trans is good.. I found a 50,000 mile engine that has only been sitting a few months for $1900 shipped but the supercharger is not included. They said those are sold separately. Should my supercharger from the blown engine be ok to go on it? I'm not sure if it's possible metal could end up in the induction system? I may ask them to send their supercharger and send mine back as a core

The supercharger is a long way from the lower end. It's hard to envision any pieces getting up there.

i would strip every useable part off your old engine including the air box, could, etc even if the replacement comes with those. Always good to have spares just in case
