XJR knocking under medium acceleration
Hello!
Did a search but did not realy find more than there are other writing about the same?
No fixes or problem solved? Isn't that strange.
On my car this is most heared at highway like 60mph, making a 50% throttle acceleration. It's like ping ping ... could maybe be a intake side leak, it's not very loud, but strange is that if you make a hard acc from like 20mph to 80. The noise is not there, it's like when you have high torque that the noise comes up. Might start with checking the all seals for induction on pressure side, but could maybe be chatter on throttle flap also?
Inouts and experience is welcome, I promise I will post if I find out.
Cheers

I had the same problem with my 01 XJR but i had both a bigger crank pulley and smaller SC pulley.
The weird thing is that it was also doing it with race fuel (100 octane)
i was only able to solve it by going back to the factory SC pulley

Thanks for the input!
I tried using 98okt which is the highest that you can buy on stations in Sweden (Shell, for info 95 is the basic grade). Don't know if it's the placebo effect or what, but I thinks it's less obvious now?
Good point with the recirculator for SC, that I need to check.
Am thinking of maybe going for a 350 gen 5 charger if it will make some extra performance.
Anyone made dynos for gen3 charger vs gen5 on the AJ26 V8?
With other words, are there any proof of that it actually do give a real gain more than seat-of-pants type he he?
Hasen't AVOS tried this along time ago?
Cheers
