Default xjr Performance Parts.

Hey guyz i have 98 xjr, I love my car i had a water pump problem but got that taken care of, so now i feel more confident with the car and was wondering what i could do for some power upgrades, nothing crazy at all just wanted your oppinion on some things, Ive read some things on the pully upgrade. Do you guyz recommend that? are there any cons? how much horse power gains would i get? and would you guyz go with a cold air intake or just a drop in k&n? Feed back greatly appreciated.

Drop in will be fine. I see way too many problems with full intake on the xjr. Pulley will be ok. Should see about 15-20hp

Unhappy No starting-'00 XJR

Has anyone experienced a no-starting glitch in their XJR's? I've had this problem on several occasions where turning the key will not start the car and only after a jump start will the car run. My service tech can't figure it out either and I wonder if it's an ignition/computer glitch or what. No way of knowing when it might happen and it happens whether the batt. is fully charged or not.

Thanks

You would probably get a better response from the techs if you post this under a new thread with that title. It may be overlooked in this thread.

Had this issue with my 2000 XJR. My mechanic went through just about everything and found that the intermittent problem was due to a bad ground cable from the battery to the chassis. There was corrosion and looseness of the connection and he replaced both the ground and the power cables. Since then, no issues.
